Bentonite, also called bentonite  montmorillonite  , is a long-established product that has been used by people for a long time. 

● Description of bentonite 

Bentonite has the characteristics of high mud production rate, high gel strength and low shear force. 

It has a series of special physical and chemical functions such as good water swelling, sealing, adhesion 

, adsorption, catalytic activity, thixotropy, suspension, plasticity, lubrication and cation exchange.

It improves wellbore stability, especially in unconsolidated formations. The high performance and low concentration of bentonite can reduce the cost and labor intensity of the industry. 

● Application of bentonite 

1. Foundry industry: Bentonite can be used as binder, absorbent, casting, ceramics, environmental treatment, etc. in foundry industry. 

2. Drilling mud: 

Use mud as binder, suspending agent, SAP, oil drilling, basic urban infrastructure engineering, construction cement. 

3. Chemical industry: Bentonite can be used as filler, thickener, suspending agent, used in papermaking, rubber, paint, ink, daily chemical, paint, textile. 

4. Poultry feed additive: Used for chicken feed, pig feed additive for aiding digestion. 

5. Wastewater treatment: Especially sewage with high concentration and suspended particles, such as sewage purification of steel plants and electroplating plants, with low cost and no pollution Used in municipal sewage sludge, municipal solid waste treatment and industrial wastewater treatment; 

6. Paper industry: Used as clarifier, retention agent, filter aid and paper dry and wet strength enhancer in paper industry. 

7. Waterproof: Bentonite has excellent fluid loss performance and is an ideal choice for all waterproofing purposes and environmental protection. 

8. Agricultural granules: used for compound fertilizer materials. Due to the natural distance between layers and high porosity, bentonite is an ideal material for agricultural pesticides . 

9. Pet household products: In household products, it is used to make pet cat litter, or various desiccants, adsorbents, detergents, cosmetics etc.
